How Justin Bieber Rose to Fame

Justin Bieber has indeed taken the music industry by storm. Who would have taught that at the age of sixteen, he already have a platinum album in just two months time, all songs hitting the top pop list, awards and nominations, live performances and world tours.

Bieber was born on March 1, 1994 to Pattie Malette in Stratford, Ontario. At an early age, he has already shown passion for music as he played different instruments such as the piano, guitar, trumpet and drums. He even joined a local singing contest when he was twelve where he sang Ne Yo’s “So Sick”. While he was performing, his mother took a video of him and uploaded it on YouTube, as well as his own covers of different pop and R&B songs.

Atlanta’s manager, Scooter Braun, have seen the amateur video of Bieber on YouTube. Braun then became his manager and he introduced Justin to R&B superstar Usher. It was by Usher that Bieber auditioned with Antonio L.A. Reid at Island Def Jam Music Group from which he signed in October of 2008.

While on the process of recording his debut album in July 2009, Bieber’s carrier single, “One Time” was out in the radio. The song charted within the top 30 in over ten countries in just a week or so. It then became platinum in the US and Canada, and gold in Australia and New Zealand. It was on November 17, 2009 that his debut album “My World” was released. Three consecutive singles fro the album, "One Less Lonely Girl", "Love Me", and "Favorite Girl", were also first heard on radio before they were exclusively released on the iTunes store.

The lead single “Baby”, which became his biggest hit so far, was released in January 2010. It is a part of the second half of his album named My World 2.0 which was released on May 23, 2010. He had won awards such as International Video of the Year, Ur Fave Video and Ur Fave New Artist for the song “Baby”.

Justin Bieber will start the recording of his next album this summer. Bieber fanatics are all exited for its first single that will surely make another hit in the top music charts.
